Underground Storage Tank Services

EnvApps has worked on hundreds of UST projects throughout Southern California, from UST removal, through assessment and remediation, and onto closure. Our client base includes major oil companies, mid-size retail distributors, UST repair contractors, and independent, family-owned, service stations.

Through our established relationship with the State of California Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund (USTCF), our clients have recovered millions of dollars in already-spent cleanup costs, sometimes expended as far back as the 1980s.

Fast and cost effective delineation of soil and groundwater impact is provided using the most appropriate subsurface investigative technology, including conventional drilling, Geoprobe®, cone penetrometer, soil vapor and geophysical surveys, etc. We streamline the investigative process, thereby minimizing costs, by collecting only data critical to assess the extent and magnitude of impact and to evaluate the risk to human health and the environment.

EnvApps understands the unique needs of the owner and minimizes the disruption assessment and remediation can cause to site operations. Services include design, permitting, turn-key installation, and O&M of remediation systems including soil vapor extraction, air or ozone sparging, dual-phase extraction, excavation, and pump-and-treat. Remedial designs combining multiple technologies are sometimes implemented, in concert with practical regulatory remedial goal negotiation, to obtain site closure.

Example Projects:

Managed Large Excavation - Managed lot-line to lot-line excavation project with geotechnical, environmental, excavation, shoring, disposal, and health risk assessment subcontractors at a major oil service station in Orange County, California.

Baseline Due Diligence Assessment - As part of a multi-consultant project team, established baseline environmental conditions by conducting drilling assessment on dozens of service stations in a very short time frame. The work was conducted as due diligence in a multi-station leasing agreement between two major oil companies.

Multi-Site Services for Closure - Provided assessment, groundwater monitoring, UST sampling, and remediation services for approximately thirty-five impacted sites owned by a mid-sized retail fuel distributor. Closure was obtained on fifteen of the sites.
